Superintendent of Children’s Ministries ~ Laura Wilson
Laura currently works as a librarian at a local college, where she teaches students how to conduct scholarly research. She began her career as a high school teacher, and has taught a variety of subjects to a wide range of ages. Her partner of 23 years is Jared Calandrillo. Together, they have a 3 year old daughter named Marigold, who attends the nursery room. Laura’s family has lived in Marlborough for several generations, and she has many fond memories of the First Church Sunday School, Confirmation Class, and youth group. Laura returned to First Church three years ago, in hopes of recreating some of those memories for her daughter. She now looks forward to expanding that hope for all the children of First Church. She aspires to foster a fun and supportive learning environment through reading, discussion, games, activities, music, and art.
Teacher’s Assistant ~ Kelson Knox
Kelson Knox, who graduated the Confirmation Class in 2017, will be the Sunday School Teacher’s Assistant. We will be teaching the elementary Sunday School class for ages 6- 12. This class will be guided by the Sparkhouse curriculum, which follows along with the weekly topics and lessons of the adult services
Nursery Care Provider – Sky Donovan
Hello First Church Families! I’m Sky Donovan, the Nursery attendant at First Church. My family has been coming here since 2012. My husband Dana and I live here in Marlborough with our 8-year old twin girls, Gracelyn and Amelia. During the week I work at The Early Childhood Center of Marlborough as a para-educator in a Pre-K classroom, and I am also Co-President of the PTO at the Richer Elementary School. I enjoy being outdoors hiking, reading, listening to all kinds of music and drinking coffee. I have been in the Early Childhood Education field since 2001 and am CPR, First Aid and Safety Care Certified. Please feel free to approach me during coffee hour if you have any questions about the nursery program or would like to get to know me more before bringing your children to the Nursery.
